So, I'm working on characters 5 & 6, both of whom I should be submitting this weekend. Both are girls on the younger end of things (Peyton was a Ravenclaw 2009, Siobhan a Gryffindor 2004 [2003 by age, but she repeated 2nd year]). I feel like I'm leaning more on the single side of the scale (Jules, Terry, and Ava are all single; Geoff is my only one in a relationship!), and both girls are currently being apped as singles. Would anyone be interested in either a.) apping a boyfriend (or more?) for one of the girls; or b.) plotting with one of your in-game boys for one of my girls to start dating? I mean, I have no problem playing singles, but it's also a little weird to be bringing in more characters who're single, y'know?

At present, Pey'll be moving in with Evie Spinnet once I get her in, and Siobhan is in a studio flat, but I'm completely open for Siobhan's living situation changing.

Okay so! Over at salemmods, I have Terry Boot (historyofmagic ... which is a slightly less apt username if that's not his job anymore ...). I apped him as being the History of Magic professor at Hogwarts. It has been brought to my attention by the modlies that being a Hogwarts prof will keep Terry very busy and exclude him from some of the fun plots of the game. So, if I was interested, I could change his job to something else. Of course, the easiest thing would be to make him one of the history teachers at the primary school in the town, but who wants easy? (Even though it could be absolutely adorable for him to be, like, walking his son to school in the morning.)

Kate, goddess of magical occupations she is, helped me out with a couple of alternatives. The only problem is, I'm now faced with two equally awesome jobs that would feed Terry's history lust and give him plenty of opportunities to get completely wrapped up in his job and potentially cause problems as he tries to both be a good dad to Jay and do his job.

So, I turn to you, lovely CDJ flist, to help me decide.

More tweaking at my NS concepts and suddenly I have six. wtf.

ANYWAY. I'm horribly amused at the variety in occupations that I've got with those six:
- The Friendly-to-a-Fault Actress
- The Self-Deprecating Magigeologist
- The Work-a-Holic Teacher
- The Cheerful Gravedigger (though I might switch that to Accident-Prone for the lulz)
- The Lover Adult Entertainer (hello Verity-clone)
- The Insomniac Coffee-Monkey (aka Intern at the Daily News)

BUT ANYWAY. People who're interested in NS should head over there and check them out, because I WANT PLOTS, DANGIT. Especially for the bottom 3, since they won't have any potential-WAH-history to bring with them. :(

I am contemplating.

Last night in WAH!chat, Andrea (I think?) mentioned that we need an Adult Entertainer. Which got me thinking about bringing Verity into NS. I definitely miss playing her, she was fun. And I'm sorry, but I was re-reading her journal a couple weeks ago, and the "comfort" post still cracks me up, okay?

But. Verity would be 31 in game. I'm not sure if I want to play her at 31. She was 24 when last I played her, but would she still be the same person at 31? No, probably not. Though it could be interesting. I'd probably use either Bree Williamson (obv the non-preggers icons) or Rebecca Romijn as her PB (and I'm kinda leaning toward the latter).

Conversely, I could take her personality and infuse it into a younger character, play her around the age of 24 again. I might use Lacey Schwimmer as her PB in that case, because thanks to DWTS, she has all sorts of questionable outfits. And plus, she makes some of the most hilarious faces ever. She also kinda has good DSLs And she could even go brunette, to counteract Jamie's billions of blonde characters.

To down-age her to 24, of course, would require making up a name. The youngest canon characters we have are the class of 2002, who would all be around 26. I know there's a few younger characters being mentioned in other NS concept posts, but it does seem like most of the characters being tossed around right now are closer to their 30s. Of course, The Stripper Who May Or May Not Be Named Verity could always be a younger sibling of another character (lol, anyone interested? :D) or I could just grab a random surname out of the lexicon and use that. (Stripper named Chastity: y/n/vy?!)


So much decisions to make. I do think I'd really like to play the [some stereotype] adult entertainer, though. I do miss Verity. And the Alley Cat needs to see its triumphant return, y/n/vy?!

Not really feeling like sleep at the moment, and since I think I've just found PBs for my three NOW SIX for salemmods, I figured I'd do some figuring out for them. And find out if anyone else was thinking of using one of the PBs I just found, so that we can have a rumble for them, or something. idek.
