augh.
I have just made myself sad by randomly looking at an old character on my wiki tonight.

Which leads me to ask:

What character from your own RP past do you miss the most? Why? If you had the chance, would you play them again, or would it just not be the same?

	... because he was hilarious and sad, and I didn't get to explore as much of the fall-out from his family drama as I would have liked. I would love to play him again, but I would definitely need his brother around... and I would prefer Emily to play him... :x (Reply to this) (Parent)

I don't know if I can really pick. I really miss playing school-aged Brownie and Milly. It would have been fun to see them develop after the war. I liked that I got to play them older but I didn't like olderBrownie as much.

REAL old school here but I miss Melanie Baptiste. I was SUCH a NEWBIE then and Historie was the second game I've ever RPed through a journal website. I think about her now and in ways I have improved on my writing and I think she'd be fun to explore again.

Oho. Hmm. Actually, this is dead easy for me to answer -- my use of CDJ tags (i.e. HOW MUCH I TALK ABOUT THESE CHARACTERS) turned out to be a really good rubric of finding the most-missed, but they're honestly accurate:

01. Canon! Deadpool (29 tags). I miss him like fucking burning, and would play him again in a heartbeat -- I had my characterisation/writing for him praised by a lot of people, incl. total strangers, and he was just an utter blast. One of his awards was "Best Tragicomedy", and that perfectly sums up what I love about writing Wade; he's equal parts hilarious, heartbreaking, violent, bloody, awful. I like writing someone who is so unbelievably fucked up and broken, but who isn't a woobie angstmachine over it, but rather vents their emotions through gratuitous violence, Cheetos, and M*A*S*H* reruns. I've been casting around for an appropriate Marvel game since the end of 2010 but haven't found anything that quite satisfies. I DO HAVE ONE POTENTIAL, though, so I might app him there once my gameload cools down. Because seriously. I miss him like burning.

02. OC! Jasper Reynard (20 tags). Probably-possibly my favourite OC of all time, and the beginning of my love affair with PBing Michael Fassbender. I love(d) writing fairytale reincarnations, and Reynard hit on so many buttons of what I love writing: he was an intelligent, cultured villain who repressed the truth of his origins, who worked very very hard to restrain his inner bloody urges and overcome his reincarnation, and who forcibly transformed himself into a respectable member of society. With an unsavoury underbelly, of course.

I wouldn't write him again as-is -- I'm done with fairytales for the forseeable future -- but I did retool him in 2010 as an agent at an assassins' agency (Jonathan Rousseau

knifeplays). Who grew into a separate beast of his own, and who I also miss. I wouldn't write Reynard again, but I would absolutely write Rousseau again. I want my friends to make their spygame so I revisit himmmm, because 4 months was absolutely not enough.

	This is something that I wanted to look into actually. I always think that when games end prematurely or something happens that causes you to withdraw, I end up feeling like there's unfinished business and am left with the burning desire to play the character again. (Reply to this)

I miss My FTH girls. I would LOVE to play Florence again and in a similar situation but not be dead. So either keep quiet or go into hiding. Then Alex and Joanna were just fun to play. So I would definitely play all 3 again if I had the chance.

I also miss the days of the standard AU games because not all the books were out. Granted the game was slow at times, but it lasted like 2 years.

Mona (

monarchist), no doubt. She is such a random character, really, because she doesn't even exist in canon, but everything just fit in Perdition/Redemption. I love her as a character, she had amazing friendships which I fear I will never be able to recreate if I do play her again, and she was the first character I used to play out the events of Deathly Hallows through to the end.

I also miss playing Susan (

bonafides) if I haven't played her for a while, but I tend to pick her up again about once every year, and she's so solid in my mind that it's not so difficult to find new storylines for her. Plus, she has a built-in package of friends, which makes it easier.

Her father (

bestbones) is someone I'd really like to play again too incidentally, but playing him was heavily dependent on his relationship with his siblings, and one of their players has pretty much left RP.
