help needed! (stg, I'm giving up after this if the poll ONCE AGAIN messes up!)
Okay so! Over at salemmods, I have Terry Boot (historyofmagic ... which is a slightly less apt username if that's not his job anymore ...). I apped him as being the History of Magic professor at Hogwarts. It has been brought to my attention by the modlies that being a Hogwarts prof will keep Terry very busy and exclude him from some of the fun plots of the game. So, if I was interested, I could change his job to something else. Of course, the easiest thing would be to make him one of the history teachers at the primary school in the town, but who wants easy? (Even though it could be absolutely adorable for him to be, like, walking his son to school in the morning.)

Kate, goddess of magical occupations she is, helped me out with a couple of alternatives. The only problem is, I'm now faced with two equally awesome jobs that would feed Terry's history lust and give him plenty of opportunities to get completely wrapped up in his job and potentially cause problems as he tries to both be a good dad to Jay and do his job.

So, I turn to you, lovely CDJ flist, to help me decide.



OPTION #1:
2. Administration of Non-corporeal Human Rights (ANCHR, pronounced “anchor”): Frequently at odds with their counterparts in the Office of Exorcism, and with their beneficiaries, and the public, and pretty much everyone ever, ANCHR staffers are charged with advocating for law-abiding spirits, mediating disputes between spirits and the living, and mediating disputes between spirits. This office is managed by Sadie Winslow, a much put-upon woman who didn’t smoke or drink until she started working here. Then she started working here.

Kate: Because then he could be a case-worker who deals with the issues of those who have been dead for (in some cases) centuries upon centuries.
Kate: And while solving their problems, he could chat with them about their lives and historical events of their living days and whatnot.

PROS: An excuse to have plot with Theodore Nott, who works in the Office of Exorcism, and he gets to work with ghosts.


OPTION #2:
1. Department of Vampiric Services (DVS) - run by Aloysius “Al” May, an Irishman who appears to be perpetually hungry, this department both serves vampires (helping them connect with night shift employment, helping newly-made vampires adjust to their new lifestyle through education and counseling, regulating the production and marketing of synthetic, animal, and human blood and blood products) and coordinates with the DMLE to help track and subdue evil vampires.

Kate: Which is another place where he could have some conversations with people who have a longer view of history, having lived through a lot of it.

PROS: An excuse to interact with Blodwyn and the MacDougals and any other vampires. Though, since he and Morag are fronds (yes, Jamie?), he could easily beg her to hook him up with her dad for all his stories.


CONCLUSION: BOTH JOBS SOUND WAY TOO FREAKING AWESOME AND COULD MEAN LOTS OF INTERESTING STORIES. ERGO, BRANDI CANNOT CHOOSE. ERGO, HELP ME OBI WAN FRIENDSLIST, YOU'RE MY ONLY HOPE.
