The (Animated!) Dark Mark
For historie, I'd wanted to create an image of the Dark Mark for some newspaper articles that were going to go up that were talking about it being in the sky above the attacked houses. A google image search turned up some, but I wasn't too happy with any of them. I happened to have GoF on DVD, and I went and took caps of the Dark Mark (in the sky at the Quidditch World Cup) and managed to put them together into a pretty dang good-looking gif, if I do say so myself. :)
